What is an Emergency?
If your safety is in danger, contact 911. If you are not in immediate danger, contact our office during buisness hours or our Emergency Service after hours (both have the same contact number (925) 671-7711, you will want to contact PG&E immediately. What do I do if I have plumbing leak? If the leak is major and causing severe secondary damage, you will want to go to the water main loacted at the front of the house at the front hose bibb. Your irrigation may be running off this main water line as well so you will want to make sure and turn off the valve that is directly on the main line and not the one running off to the side. Then call our office immediately and we will dispatch a plumber. If the leak is small and is located under a sink or at a toilet, you can shut the water off to that plumbing fixture by turning the valve located at the water lines running to that fixture. This way, you will still have water to the rest of the house. Then, contact our office in writting and we will send a service request to a plumber. How long am I covered under warranty? You have a one-year Fit & Finish warranty for the basic components and manufactured products in your home. You are given a copy of this warranty during your purchasing process and again at your Walk Through Inspection. This warranty period starts from the day that you close escrow. Please refer to your SB 800 Warranty & Manufacturer Warranties for more detailed information. Are cosmetic items covered under warranty? Cosmetic items are only covered if noted at your walk through orientation, as it states on the walk through paperwork. You can also refer to your Fit & Finish Warranty on page #'s 2 & 3 to get further clarification on what we consider cosmetic items as well as any exclusions. Air Conditioner isn't working is it an emergency? No. Unless outside tempertures exceed 100 degrees, or you have an individual living in the home that has health problems or that cannot withstand heat. Make sure to always check you’re A/C return for a clogged filter. In many cases, this can cause the system to overheat, which in turn, causes it not to turn on. Warranted size for Concrete, Sheetrock & Stucco cracks? Your home is a structure of many components. It settles and moves as the soils change with the weather. As this occurs, you may see cracks in the exterior and interior surfaces of the home. If a stucco, sheetrock or concrete crack exceeds 1/8" in width or greater it is warranted for repair. If a crack does not exceed an 1/8" in width then it is considered cosmetic and is considered homeowner maintenance. Are my appliances covered under warranty through the builder? No. The manufacturer holds the warranty directly with the homeowner. Our customer service representatives are not certified to work on appliances and would void the manufacturer's warranty if a repair attempt was made. Your Customer Service Representative can supply you with your appliance manufacturer's service contact information upon request. What is wrong if all the outlets in the Kitchen, Bathrooms, Laundry or Exterior are not working but the lights work? The GFI breaker is most likely tripped and needs to be reset. A ground fault interupter (GFI) is an especially sensetive breaker that is located in or tied to the outlets in the kitchen, baths, outdoors, and the garage. Any locations that could be moist or damp must be protected with a "GFI". Appliances and hairdryers are notorious for tripping GFI's. When a GFI trips it can be reset at the closest outlet with a reset button located right on the outlet it will have a black and red button or at sub panel located in you laundry room or garage. |
